The ever debonair John Steed from The Avengers. There was a reason my parents forbade my brothers and I from watching this show, in addition to Star Trek, Space 1999, etc., mostly their opposition to the sex and feminism.

It was good at the time but I appreciated rewatching more as adult after seeing what came after and just "getting it" more.

TV nowadays does not have characters or actors with class like that.

R.I.P., Mr. Macnee

He will always be Count Iblis to me (if you don't get the reference, look up the original Battle Star Galactica series).
RIP.

By all accounts he was as much a gentleman in real life as the characters he played on screen.Avengers was his defining role but I also remember him in episodes of Columbo and Frasier.
