That'll happen on November 8 2016. Not nearly soon enough.

how do you know those friendly folk won't just reelect her in a landslide?

What i mean is that once a presidential election is held, conservative politicians will stop trying to be seen supporting her

You are forgetting a few things here. First, this is Appalachia. If the locals got past high school, they're doing good. Second, Kentucky is smack dab in the middle of the Bible Belt. Southern fried, as well as Primitive Baptists (those groups that use poisonous snakes in part of their worship rituals), as well as Methodists (UMC and Wesleyan), Pentecostals, and Holiness congregations, predominate. They take the Bible literally (and even then, the 1611 King James Version is the only true Scripture. Any other version, such as the Revised Standard Version or the New International Version, is the work of the Devil.). Don't even try to convince them otherwise, as they're just as stubborn and mule-headed as the old-order Amish and Mennonites. Personally, I agree with them on their stance on same-sex marriage. If I were the county clerk, however, I'd probably resign, since, in this instance, i could not, in good conscience, render to Caesar what is Caesar's.

kim the hypocrite is up to no good again. she reworded the marriage forms so that the name of her office is omitted, also she is having her clerks sign them as notary publics, which is explicitly forbidden under state law [KRS 402.080]-
"The license shall be issued by the clerk of the county in which the female resides at the time, unless the female is eighteen (18) years of age or over or a widow, and the license is issued on her application in person or by writing signed by her, in which case it may be issued by any county clerk."

she's also explicitly violating another statute, namely KRS 402.100, which directs:
"Each county clerk shall use the form prescribed by the Department for Libraries and Archives when issuing a marriage license. This form shall provide for the entering of all of the information required in this section, and may also provide for the entering of additional information prescribed by the Department for Libraries and Archives. The form shall consist of:
(1) A marriage license which provides for the entering of:
(a) An authorization statement of the county clerk issuing the license for any
person or religious society authorized to perform marriage ceremonies to unite
in marriage the persons named;
(b) Vital information for each party, including the full name, date of birth, place
of birth, race, condition (single, widowed, or divorced), number of previous
marriages, occupation, current residence, relationship to the other party, and
full names of parents; and
(c) The date and place the license is issued, and the signature of the county clerk
or deputy clerk issuing the license.
"

If davis is removing any mention of the office of county court clerk, then she's in direct violation of this statute. If she is directing her deputies to sign them as notaries public--and NOT as deputy county clerks--then there's another violation of the same statute.
finally, there's KRS 402.110, which clearly states:
"The form of marriage license prescribed in KRS 402.100 shall be uniform throughout this state, and every license blank shall contain the identical words and figures provided in the form prescribed by that section. In issuing the license the clerk shall deliver it in its entirety to the licensee. The clerk shall see to it that every blank space required to be filled by the applicants is so filled before delivering it to the licensee.
what this tool is doing, is setting up a future court fight regarding invalid marriage licenses.

People who are in the right shouldn't have to resort to sh*tty little tricks. Goes to show you how she's hardly in the right.

in the fullness of time, when she meets her maker and has her life review, she might grok it then. but in this lifetime I doubt she will understand just how evilly she has been behaving.

Oh, no, not with her lawyers, Hucksterbee, and all her fan club telling her how righteous she is!

Well, she might very well be returning to jail, to which Hucksterbee and her lawyers, looking for a martyr, will rub their hands together, and say in their best Montgomery Burns voice: "Excellent!"

I think the judge is under tremendous pressure to look the other way this time, this is gonna turn into a nasty court battle over the validity of the marriage licenses.

^ Or else the state legislature will come up with its own solutions formally allowing the current improvised arrangements to stand. Like authorising a new template for marriage licences that removes the need for the county clerk to personally sign and explicitly authorise every single licence. It shouldn't be a difficult task for the state legislature. In fact this could have been cleared up long ago had they anticipated this kind of scenario and acted on it sooner.

In a conservative state like Kentucky? Of course they could've anticipated a scenario like Davis'. Similar stories have emerged in other states, some before Obergefell was even decided.
