Clinton didn't bother to respond to a story in The National Enquirer, he didn't blame his main rival for planting the story and trying to tie it to said rival.

Clinton also didn't bother to run on "Traditional Family Values" and vowing to protect the "Sanctity of Traditional Marriage".
Clinton wasn't attacking people for sleeping around and cheating.

Clinton was just a bad husband.

Also in 1996, Clinton was running against dull as dirt Bob Dole (R) and Ross Perot (I)
Perot split the vote giving Clinton an easy win.

At the same time, the GOP majorities in congress were busy investigating him for "White Water" dealings and making a huge deal about it.
Speaker of the House Newt (R) who returned the GOP to power was busy covering his own affairs and trying to keep them hidden.

If Clinton was running a campaign based on "Traditional Family Values" and vowing to protect the "Sanctity of Traditional Marriage", he would have been screwed.

I wonder how long cruz will resist before facing the music? and when that time comes will he remain stoic or get weepy?

#4 is expected. Nobody would confess at this stage.
#5 expected because Trump blamed Cruz.
#7 is expected. No one would confess.

Cruz has gone in hard on the "Traditional Family Values" and vowing to protect the "Sanctity of Traditional Marriage" to appeal to conservatives.
It's core to his campaign that he brings up at every opportunity and spouts it to the press as well.

Trump and other GOP members have blamed Cruz for numerous things this election cycle, but not this.

The National Enquirer hit stands this morning and published it on their site today.
Everyone was mocking the story until Ted Cruz decided to respond to it, blaming Trump for it and claiming Trump is taking it to a new low to win.

Cruz went on Air numerous times today going off about how underhanded Trump is and how Trump is trying to destroy him and his family by using this story.

Trump has done his fair share of things, but if he really wanted to take down Cruz he has much better things he could do.
Trump has access to far better press and media outlets than bothering with The National Enquirer of all media outlets.
It would make Trump look horribly bad if he resorted to using a trash tabloid such as The National Enquirer, The Sun, The Globe etc...

Since the story was first offered to major news outlets, who rejected it out of fear of major backlashes.
Their people have let it know that Rubio's campaign is behind this when they gave the information The Daily Beast (who is a credible political news site and blog).

We know Rubio's campaign is behind this, but whether or not Rubio is personally involved is unknown.
Ted Cruz did order his campaign to report to the media and to voters that Rubio was dropping out of the race ~10 days before the Florida primary. Cruz claimed that CNN was reported it, which CNN never did. This is stated as the reason why Cruz beat Rubio in Florida.

Cruz did the same thing in Iowa against Ben Carson, claiming CNN was behind his information.
CNN has been proven not to have reported the story about Carson that Cruz claimed.

No one was taking this story seriously because The National Enquirer reported it, until Cruz came out swinging and blaming Trump for it.

Gawker is the horrible site that regular posts explicit private details of peoples lives for profit/hits.
They are horrible but credible.
They just lost the suit over the sex tape which Hulk Hogan successfully won.


To repeat if Cruz kept his mouth shut and ignored The National Enquirer story, it would have already blown over like nearly all their other stories.
Now that he dragged Trump into it, it won't be going away anytime soon.

I knew about Cruz and Carson but I didn't know about Cruz and Rubio and Florida. Carson did endorse Trump and told Cruz to stop lying. I thought that was interesting.

Still, me and my Ma were still thinking the story was true because The Enquirer has been right on some things. We also were expecting to hear from Cruz, Trump and I was waiting to hear from Beck and those women who supposedly had an affair with Cruz. I'm thinking it's going to blow over since he denied it. If the media leaves it alone it will go away. The problem will be if the women come forward. And to know whether the story is true or not depends heavily on those women. If they stay quiet then he's guilty in my book.

All that family values and sanctity of marriage crap sounds like the same thing infamous televangelists like Swaggart and Baker used to spout. No surprise that Cruz essentially comes from the same religious tradition.

The story is probably true in The National Enquirer, because it has been collaborated by other more credible sources.
It is also most likely true due to Cruz's response.

I cannot stress enough on how anyone worth their salt knows that The National Enquirer is a trash tabloid and not worth responding over.

Only the guilty and the desperate respond to The National Enquirer.

I KNEW cruz the ooze was bad news but not THIS bad. power must be the ultimate aphrodisiac because I don't know how else anybody could be persuaded to lower themselves sufficient to shag this piece of work.

I bet that no matter what, Texans will still support the cruz missile.

But still though, National Enqiurer is a celebrity chasing shitrag that nobody with at least half a brain reads. --They are NOT known for their journalistic integrity.

so far the cruz missile seems to be getting away with his various misdeeds [blatant campaign finance law violations, cheating on his wife repeatedly with at least 5 different women, bribery]. like I said, somebody big is protecting him.
