What I've heard is that he had Tannerite, which is a commercially available binary compound used to make exploding targets, which would be consistent with a guy who's going to do some target shooting. It's a very stable material, it needs to be hit with a high powered round to go off, and unless this guy also had blasting caps, isn't terribly suitable for bomb making. I'll be curious to see what other details come out on this one.

But not a "cute stage " Elijah. Man that would have me wanting to watch the world burn >_<

He was going to attend, he is a weird, trigger happy bi-guy with ashort fuse temper and no sense of responsibility with firearms (you NEVER point at somoen you are not intending to kill...cuz shat happens) that is a loose cannon already prohibted by probation for having firearms. In trouble no matter what , but not what the thought.
At the worse case he was there to kill his lover.

what are the odds that all this horror happening within a 2-day period [Christina Grimmie, Orlando massacre and now this] is not strictly random?
