Exactly. A multi-billion dollar a year business, with micro-breweries on every block, micro-distilleries in every town, and the War on Drugs making headway, there is little chance that any "Prohibition Party" would stand a chance of success nowadays.

If some old broad pulled a "Carrie Nation" and started busting up a bar with an axe, she would likely be knocked down, hog tied, and dumped by the curb ... if she wasn't shot first!

Apparently the author of the piece conveniently forgot that by the time the Prohibition Party rose to power it had been crafted into a tool of the conservative Christian Evangelicals. Their war against alcohol was an attempt to simultaneously gather power & money - and push their own brand of morality.
