In general, I am happy to see anything popularizing astronomical topics. I hope they use this series to promote real understanding of the new knowledge that surface rovers and orbital instruments have accumulated about mars in recent years, along with thoughtful looks at the issues to be confronted by the groups who are planning manned missions to Mars.

I hope they do not follow the "history channel" model of steady descent into sensationalism and stupid fiction.
