Quote:
At Neurocore’s clinics, children and adults with A.D.H.D., anxiety, depression, autism and other psychological and neurological diagnoses sit before monitors watching movies or television shows ranging from “Frozen” to “Mad Men,” with sensors attached to their scalps and earlobes.

Whenever they become distracted or anxious, the video automatically freezes. That feedback, known as conditioning, leads the vast majority of clients, company officers say, to experience improvements in their disorders after 30 45-minute sessions costing about $2,000. Some insurers cover the treatments, while others have denied payment.

Quote:
In interviews, nearly a dozen child psychiatrists and psychologists with expertise in autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or A.D.H.D., expressed caution regarding some of Neurocore’s assertions, advertising and methods.

“This causes real harm to children because it diverts attention, hope and resources,” said Dr. Matthew Siegel, a child psychiatrist at Maine Behavioral Healthcare and associate professor at Tufts School of Medicine, who co-wrote autism practice standards for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. “If there were something out there that was uniquely powerful and wonderful, we’d all be using it.”

Neurocore rejects any suggestion that its treatments do not work as advertised. Dr. Majid Fotuhi, Neurocore chief medical officer, said, “There is significant research to support the efficacy of neurofeedback for a variety of mental and behavioral health issues.”

Betsy DeVos is a joke and shouldn't be in the government, period.

Trump job requirements for Education Secretary

✓Incompetent
✓Bad for public education
✓$200,000,000 payoff to Republicans

Corruption is alive and well. So sickening!

Being a rich ditz, DeVos' opinion should carry zero weight. She has absolutely no knowledge about education or science.

Public education is a joke in this country, big city liberals that actually care about minority communities know this which is why Obama was for charter schools. Only people beholden to the teachers union or public education as plank of communism should really oppose it. You know what special education I got in progressive Wisconsin? Nothing! Education can't get worse than it is now in this country.

That doesn't justify her getting the job at all! She has no education experience! How is that alright?

Public education has it's issues but certainly wont be magically fixed by some corrupt outsider. She bought the job basically. That's messed up!

She has been an education reform advocate for many years, saying she has no experience is not true. The issues with public schools are impossible to fix at a federal level so whatever they can do to empower parents to be able to choose what school they want their child to go to is a positive. It's something very personal to me consider the disgraceful public education I had to go thru and their refusal to allow me to go outside the district, that had an effect on the rest of my life and I carry tremendous bitterness over it towards anti-reform people who are usually greedy teachers or pinkos who see public education as nessasary as a means of indoctrination. If you didn't go to a failing school system, one that wasn't plagued by drugs and violence, then consider yourself privileged.
