Gene modification, like all forms of "playing God", is one of those sticky topics where there are strong arguments from both sides. Some have likened it to eugenics and have given strong arguments in favour of their position. Others think it could help eradicate presently incurable diseases and have done the same. I think down the middle- I think it may be able to rid the world of some diseases but people- even medical professionals- may take it too far.

i like taking the "middle road", and that ^ is also an issue where i feel that way but....i dunno.
with our current knowledge, i just don't trust that those in charge won't accidentally alter a gene negatively, noncoding or "junk", that turns out to be vital but whose function is currently not understood.
