It's not the fault of the university. It's the fault of a minority of people which may or may not have included students. I fear that the socalled "culture war" has not yet reached its apex and campus climates will just get worse under Trump.

Nope, there are liberal and libertarian groups too. I agree that more colleges should have free speech.

As for the term "snowflakes" as in "special snowflakes" ...
the first time I remember seeing it was right here on Wrong Planet,
either that, or in some news article related to autism.

I have no clue what political persuasion the person using it was,
but it was being used pejoratively against
people who allegedly claim to be autistic
(who may or may not actually be autistic)
in order to receive special treatment, ...
for example, extra understanding for behavior
that others might consider problematic,
or special accommodations based on
the sensory, communicative, or other challenges they may face.

The Alt Right uses it to mean someone they can bully, or who they think they can bully. That is, someone who is fragile, and melts easily.

Could this term have extra meanings? I hear it used to describe people who make up labels to make themselves unique. A classic example is tumblr genders.
