Well, this is concerning.

Hopefully none of the idiots involved launch any nuclear weapons & we don't lose millions of lives nor create any (more) nuclear wasteland no-go zones on Earth.

However, I acknowledge there is approximately sweet f**k all any of us can do about it as individuals, so there's no real sense in worrying obsessively over it. If idiots launch nukes & some of us get melted and others irradiated, it is what it is. I guess if I put any mental energy into this whatsoever it'd be best directed at "Hmmm, what would I do with my last 10 minutes if that's all the warning I had?" Hmmm, indeed. lol according to Pornhub a whole lot of people logged in to their site after the Hawaiian incoming missile warning.

As long as there are nukes in the world, the clock will always be set close to midnight. Seriously, why does anyone even want to live in a world where nukes exist? :(

My question is this: if all out nuclear holocaust occurs are the same dipshits that control the clock going to update it to midnight in their last moments while the bombs come falling down, or is it going to forever be set at about 1 till midnight?

Obviously I'm not a big fan of the doomsday clock, it's caused more fear and anxiety than it's created solutions.

Very interesting. Pretty much concur with them that we are loosing some cushion, or head room lately. The Union of Atomic scientists who set the clock, also pressured Trump to lighten up on the saber rattling talk. Hopefully both Trump and Un will cool off, and the clock will fall back.

Is this scaremongering, or is it for real?

It will be worse for those of us who DON'T get wiped out in the nuclear disaster because they will be the ones severely affected by the radiation poisoning. That is what frightens me the most.

They've been updating this clock as a barometer of the world's nuclear risks since 1947. It's very real. It isn't an "incoming missile alert," but the risks they're measuring & reporting are very real. These few idiot world "leaders," threatening to nuke each other is actually happening.. so yeah, this is real.

Two is the lowest number on the clock, it happened only once before.
However, the clock updating was too slow to mark Cuban Missile Crisis when for 12 days the world was on the brink of a full-scale nuclear war.
For comparison, the record high was 17, in the early nineties.

Exactly.

Its the saber rattling heads of state who "spread fear" when they indulge in brinkmanship. The Atomic scientists are just the messengers. Not their fault that they bring bad news.
