Senator Elizabeth Warren, the Massachusetts Democrat and a sharp critic of big banks and unregulated capitalism, entered the 2020 race for president on Monday, becoming the first major candidate in what is likely to be a long and crowded primary marked by ideological and generational divisions in a Democratic Party determined to beat President Trump.

Trump calls her "a dream come true candidate".

Announcing one's Presidential candidacy on New Year's Eve is a curious strategy, to say the least. Most people even most political junkies are not paying attention.

The US may have had a non-white president, but I know the government doesn't want a female president ever. Never mind that there have been female presidents and leaders in other countries.

Of course, gender alone does not make a good leader.

Why would any educated, intelligent, and rational person listen to one word from someone who lies more than 15 times a day?

Angela Merkel and Teresa May aren't helping the reputation of female heads-of-state any. Although its actually their politics that is their problem. I couldn't care less about the demographic make-up of a potential president. But according to psychologists, women tend to hold grudges longer than men. Not a good trait for a head-of-state.

Depending on who else runs for president, I may end up voting for Elizabeth Warren, especially if the only other person running is Donald Trump.

Anyone but Trump.

So you hate Trump more than you love the country? Voting for her (or anyone of the 500 Democratic candidates other than Biden) would turn the U.S. into Venezuela or France.

I have to give her credit for her public speaking skills though. She's world class. A hundred times better than Hillary Clinton. Right up there with Hitler. I don't think she even uses teleprompters. This is the one thing that worries me about her.

ms. warren could NOT be any worse than the present disaster. it is basically the equivalent of guaranteed that she could do no worse. NOBODY [but pence and the other GOP back-benchers] has any potential to do any worse. if she is the front runner, she got my vote. and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being "more like france," our lapdog working class has much to learn.

Someone's getting mixed up with your current incumbent.

If she runs, we might as well consider tRumpty-Dumpty President for life. Warren, as far as i’m Concerned, is just as distasteful as Clinton. Too bad Bella Abzug is no longer among up.
