When are you going to wake up an realize the f*****g Democrats don't care anymore about you than the f*****g Republicans? You're living in a dream world. Wake the f**k up and join the revolution. Stop supporting the one-party system! How much more do you need to be f****d up the ass before that sinks in?

Because that's a lie. They passed health care. They support the EPA. They believe in science. They want people to have the right to vote. They aren't trying to destroy unions. They support LGBT rights. They support the separation of church and state. They protect us from predatory lenders. They oppose torture. The support women's rights and abortion rights. They are diverse.

Trump blames autism on vaccines.
Republicans are anti-porn, and anti-pot legalization.

They caved to the insurance companies when they passed the ACA, which is why the thing is such a mess, now. The unions are already destroyed. They believe in science? Well, hell, why don't they do anything meaningful about climate change? They protect us from predatory lenders? Do you really believe that? They are just as much in bed with Wall Street as the Pubs. LGBT rights? Yeah, when it's politically advantageous to do so. The people are responsible for bringing true social change for the gay community and women's rights. The Dems drag their feet as long as they can on issues like pot legalization. They ae not advocates for positive change until they forced to. They are still every bit as neoliberal as the Republicans.

Torture? Yeah, Obama said he was going to close GITMO. He didn't do it, did he?

I could go on about my contempt for foreign interventionalist policies and endless war for profit that both parties support, but you seem to be alright with that. That makes you a neoconservative, for which I have utter contempt.

That's true.

Someone said that if a POTUS candidate was born in a foreign country populated by white people, no one would bring up the natural-born citizen clause as disqualification.

I think also if (hypothetically speaking) it was uncertain whether Schwarzenegger was born in the US or Austria, people would be asking to see proof he was born in the US. And those opposed to him becoming POTUS would try to prove he was born in Austria to disqualify him.

That's only half the truth, though.

Technically, the label is "idiot savant."

Like my coworker I pick up on the way to work has noticed & commented yesterday with something to the effect of "With the way your mind and memory works it's like you're some kind of genius or something.. but then with the things you forget (i.e. how often I misplace my wallet, things like that.) it's like you're part ret*d or something."

I didn't respond to his comment. It wasn't rude. It was factual. And also interesting to me that he's picked up on enough traits to make that sort of comment with such accuracy - especially since he's not all there after ~15 years of hard drug use; he's only been sober for 2-3 years and has the nickname "50 first dates," from one of our bosses for how often he has to be retrained on some things.

Anyways, he's a good guy and his observation of me yesterday is both factual as well as far more complete than just the first half in a meme. However, I acknowledge that this fishy meme isn't fake news - only part truthiness, though.. and, it applies to every single one of us here - myself included. 8)

edit: I took this as you calling me an idiot, but I think your intent was to say that I called you or others an idiot. Fake news. I didn't. I just explained that I wasn't posting an attack or an insult, just using an adjective appropriately for it's literal definition. We are all idiots, though.

They passed it. Barely. Socialized medicine would not have passed with that congress.

Thank a Republican.

They have. Republicans are undoing it.

I know that. Republican undid it.

That's a yes.

Not when it comes to law.

By the people that voted for them. I always want the more liberal candidate, but people like you drag your feet and invent false equivalency.

VegetableMan wrote:

I believe he signed an executive order to that effect on his second day, but it's complicated. He certainly didn't double down like Trump.

I don't think it's always for profit, and I'm not an immoral pacifist. If we don't intervene sometimes, the world would be a shittier place. And you shouldn't fall for Trump's phoney peacemaking, he hired John Motherfucking Bolton.

Dude, you're just a cynical, delusional liberal, convinced somehow to vote against all your best interests.

That's why I deleted it as I knew you would see it as something it wasn't. I realised my sarcasm could be mistaken as a personal attack. You live , you learn , well some of us do.

I never understood how some people go about thinking they're so darned "woke" for criticizing both democrats and republicans.

Yeah, politicians are mostly corrupt rich people, but, at the end of the day, I prefer my crook to be in power over your crook. If someone is capable of creating a political party that's filled with nothing but virtuous and good people, more power to you, but, in the meantime, I vote for those whose platforms most closely align with my own interests.

That's a rather unfortunate middle name.

Sorry, I don't know how to say it any other way. He was the worst of the worst from the Bush administration, and he's got a bug up his butt for Iran. I'm no fan of Iran's government, but when they try to get along with us and abide by a nuclear treaty, it's stupid to just tear it up.
