Trump Again Defending His Comments About Charlottesville

I do find it funny that people are offended at Trump saying Lee was a great general. Lee's adversaries at the time thought the same. President Lincoln certainly thought so when he offered Lee command of the US Army. Lee refused, of course, choosing his home state of Virginia.
Yes and the Americans offered Nazi Werner Von Braun and other ex Nazis jobs in their early aerospace program. All of the Germans recruited were members of the Nazi party. His weapons were responsible for the deaths of thousands of Brits during the London bombings. Despite his brilliant mind he was an evil bastard who volunteered to join the SS during WWII.

Ernst Rommel another Nazi was acknowledged to be a brilliant tacticians in military history. He also caused the deaths of thousands of allied troops and was a member of the Nazi party.
The Germans took the mature decision not to build memorials to Von Braun or other Nazis like Rommel.
General Lee was a slaver, he was rebelling against the United States government to keep slavery which technically makes him a traitor and a criminal. During the civil war he actively hunted escaped slaves trying to reach the north and re-captured them taking them back to slavery. His cruelty to slaves was notorious.

Building monuments to him and praising him is the sign of a sociopathic mind....

General Lee was NOT a traitor. Secession was, and is, legal under the US constitution. There's nothing there to prohibit states from leaving, and the federal government was a creature of the states, not the other way around.
Also, Rommel was a great man and a patriot who served his country.

Same thing happen after ww2. Mean if a guy can be friends with a German who manned a machine gun on Normandy and killed many of his friends and fellow soldiers then why can’t we all get along today?
...Of course, that's the people who actually suffered the experience of warfare. Later people don't have that common bond.
It's also argued that, when Reconstruction ended, the unreconstructed Sotherners were allowed to put ruthless Jim Crow laws & customs everywhere and diminish the importantce of slavery in the war's beginning --- and what governmental officials inside the Confederacy explicitly said they were fighting to continue --- slavery.

He gave up a position in the US army to fight the US army...that makes him a traitor (nothing ambiguous about it)

Nope...Abraham Lincoln declared the attempt to secede from the US was unconstitutional and illegal
Lets face it...the southerners wanted to keep their slaves...that's the only reason they killed thousands of their fellow Americans...hardly anything to be proud off...

The President doesn't have that authority. Maybe you should read Article II.

Actually, Rommel wasn't a Nazi party member, and in fact said of the Nazis: "They soil my uniform." Later, Rommel, when he was told by the Mayor of Stuttgart about what was really happening in the concentration camps, joined the Mayor in the Anti-Nazi resistance, and was forced to commit suicide following the failed bomb attempt on Hitler's life. During the North African front, Rommel refused to carry out Hitler's orders to execute Jews serving in Allied forces. Very different from Robert E. Lee who along with Jefferson Davis had devised the abhorrent policy of executing all surrendering blacks wearing Union uniforms.

Yep, Rommel wasn't exactly loved but he was at least a man of honour.

I'm sure Fox News is guilty of twisting facts to fit their agendas, but I don't think Fox News is as bad as CNN.
Then I fear you are very naive.
I know Fox News is fairly biased. I don't even like Fox News, nor do I really watch it. I don't really watch any of the mainstream news networks, right-wing or left-wing.
If you say I'm naive, please prove me wrong. Don't just say that and stop there.

In my own experience, I have never heard CNN say anything that was provably wrong, whereas Fox constantly misrepresents the truth in favor of the right. If CNN is at all biased, it's a recent development starting with Trump making war on them, and with CNN firing back, but even then has been truthful.
