You lived in the coldest part of Florida.

Even there, it’s much warmer even than northern Georgia and Alabama.

It’s like the northern mountains being the “icebox” of Trinidad....even though it’s still boiling hot there....

Ah, yeah I guess that's true. I've never been to South Florida, the furthest I've been down was Gainesville.

Gainesville gets frost every year...but it snows extremely rarely.

It probably snows like 1 year every 5 in the interior parts of the Panhandle.

And when it does snow you might not even notice it.

Am I the only one who finds it ironic seeing snowman decorations here in the south during Christmas time when we really don't get snow here?

It’s even more ironic in Australia—where you can easily get 110 degree temperatures at Christmas time lol

It doesn’t get as hot there—though the humidity is pretty high.

The Confederates should not have decided that the fort was in "their" waters----because, before they seceded, the waters were the property of the United States.

A "foreign nation" laid claim to territory owned by the United States.

And China use to own all the China sea.
No fort Sumter didn’t belong to the north, Lincoln wanted war and knew not leaving fort Sumter would get him that war.
Nations own water 100 miles form their shore the fort was in a bay. Your logic supports China aggression and future wars the start so I’d rethink that by same logic then fort Sumter and all the water up to our beaches belong to England. I don’t think the USA would have accepted such a ludicrous claim by England oh wait we didn’t and started a war over something similar. Got the white house burned down for it. If south had won England would made us pay reperations for fort Sumter. Just as today China doesn’t own the water up to beaches of japan like they claim.

Just as we were on the Mexican side of border whe shots broke out starting that war. This has been a strategy to get us into wars for long time.

Edit: And I find it amusing how the leftists claim that they are so noble as to accept responsability for any misdeeds they do when they can't even accept the fact that the Union they support during the American Civil War was being very atrocious and cruel by going around attacking women and children and burning everything to the ground because it's not PC enough to fit into their textbook liberal agenda.

The 400 years of hellish suffering experienced by black women and children (and the comparison with hell is appropriate) makes any experience of southerners (who were the collective beneficiaries of slavery) pale into insignificance. Drawing comparisons is like countering the Nazi holocaust of Jews with "what about German women and children?"....it doesn't fly

It was worse for the slaves...but it wasn’t a walk in the park for the poor white folks, either.

It’s good to have perspective....but it’s bad not to acknowledge that others suffered under the slave system in the South.

Some people don't give a s**t because there really is a prejudice towards both the white people from the south and the Germans because of the terrible things they did in the past, and cyberdad has proved my point about that although I'm sure he'll deny it.

I find it disturbing that anybody would actually think it's ok to slaughter women and children during times of war.

This is why I hate America.

"LET'S PUNISH THE ENEMY FOR THEIR EVIL WAR CRIMES AND NEVER FORGIVE THEM!! !"

"...Oh but it's ok that we commited war crimes to win the war. You really can't hate us for that."

We had the Geneva Convention.

We should really follow it again. We would gain more credibility that way.

I agree, and we really should hold ALL countries accountable for their war crimes including the US.
