This is pure pedantry, but it generated the best rate of return. Avengers endgame is the most profitable by raw dollars.

Still very impressive for Joker and it has a good shot of being first R-rated one billion dollar grosser.

I guess a 15 Certificate would be our closest equivalent

would cinema's in the U.S actually be strict on whether anyone under 17 went in on their own though? Over here I don't think unless you were clearly way under the age restriction they would really stop you

Pretty much. Also worth noting that a lot of R rated films receive 18 Certificates in the UK. The US also has a NC-17 rating which does not allow anyone under 17 but it’s rarely used as films with that rating struggle to find distribution as many movie theatres will refuse to show it.
