Next we need to find her accomplices.

(probably not two black men with cornrows)

SO MORE TO THIS STORY

A Florida woman who authorities say initially told them her 9-year-old son was kidnapped now faces a murder charge in connection with his death.

Patricia Ripley, 47, of West Kendall, was booked into the Miami-Dade County jail early Saturday following hours of questioning by police, the Miami Herald reported.

Her arrest came after her son, Alejandro, was found dead Friday in a pond at the Miccosukee Golf & Country Club, the report said.

According to the Herald, the suspect told police a car had forced her vehicle off the road near the store, then two men jumped out of the vehicle and demanded drugs. She then said the men grabbed the boy and drove off when she couldn’t comply with their request.

But security footage from the Home Depot shows Ripley sitting alone in her car for 20 minutes before calling police at 8:47 p.m. Thursday, a source told the Herald. The woman eventually admitted being linked to the boy’s death, sources told the paper.

Another mother murders her child/children,what is this number 5 this year.Lori Vallow,Leticia Stauch,Megan Boswell and that chick from Pennsylvania who lynched her two kids with a dog collar(don't remember her name). What is the world coming to.

Perhaps more support for women, especially the ones raising children with developmental disabilities.

There was an interesting book I read some years ago called "Women who Kill." The upshot was that these women were no different from other women in terms of the challenges they faced, but they had no support to meet them and over-reacted to a point past which most of us would not go.

From amazon for Women who Kill by Ann Jones: This landmark study offers a rogues’ gallery of women—from the Colonial Era to the 20th century—who answered abuse and oppression with murder: “A classic” (Gloria Steinem).

Women rarely resort to murder. But when they do, they are likely to kill their intimates: husbands, lovers, or children. In Women Who Kill, journalist Ann Jones explores these homicidal patters and what they reflect about women and our culture.

Most or close to all women incarcerated for murder killed an imediate family member or someone they were a caretaker of.I'm not an expert in psychology but prior abuse doesn't surprise me as a factor, most men who kill were usually abused too, most often in childhood.

During their investigation, officials obtained video that allegedly showed Ripley pushing Alejandro into a canal Thursday evening around 7:30 p.m. ET, Rundle told reporters.
Nearby residents heard screaming, found Alejandro in the canal and rescued him, Rundle said. But just an hour later, Ripley allegedly brought Alejandro to a different canal.
"This time, unfortunately, there was no one there to save him," Rundle said.

The mother reputedly said, "He's in a better place," because of his non-verbal autism. I'm expecting a flood of sympathy for the poor, overworked mother.

The woman's plan was hatched based on her awareness of a well known bias in policeforce

So it's another story of a mother killing her autistic child. It seems like attention might be a motive, but there could be others as well...

What do y'all think? Seems mighty suspicious...

Maybe .. because ... the schools were closed because of COVID-19.

She felt overwhelmed, depressed.

Not that it matters, but those are some eyes that have been crying for an extended period.
They're not what I'd describe as 'aspie eyes' though, also, not that it matters. :clown:

A lack of services is no excuse to kill your child.

I don't think an explanation amounts to an excuse. Having mental health issues and being more burdened and melting down due to a disruption of income, routine, social circles, social support, etc all wouldn't excuse killing one's child in this way, but both the defence and the prosecution seek explanations when describing what occurred. I'm selling the mom even more sympathetically than TRL, but still flat-out saying that it's not an acceptable explanation from a moral or legal standpoint.

There is a shockingly similar case here in Australia (infact not that far from where I live.

Not only did the mother drown her child in a creek but she blamed it on a black man.

If this ones not a death penalty case it should be,I don't know if you can get a death sentence for one murder, maybe being that it's a child,I'm not sure.If I remember the Casey Anthony case was a capital case,so yea the'll seek the death penalty here I think.

Florida cooks em quik,so it should only be 5-8 years until she gets the gurney and a "hot shot" and Florida is real conservative on appeals, only Texas fries em faster than Florida.

I wouldn't be surprised to see former Anthony lawyer Chenney Mason on the case,he's one of Florida's leading death penalty lawyers, and in today's age of endless appeals every DP defendant must have death penalty specialist on the defense team, judges don't want there verdicts overturned cause that humiliating for the judge, nothing embarrasses a judge like an overturned verdict.

The Home Depot employee reported seeing the incident.

"One of the Home Depot's employees had told WSVN that Ripley was abducted after two unknown men rammed their vehicle into his mother’s car"

So, there are two accomplices?

Apparently, the mother has confessed to killing her son. Pushed him into a canal and his screams alerted rescuers. So she took him to another canal and succeeded on the second try.

Anyone following the news over several years might come up with the wild notion that there was a pattern of parents killing autistic kids....
