Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown addressed his past extramarital relationship with U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris in his weekly column Saturday, saying he may have boosted the presidential hopeful's career.

"Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago," Brown wrote in the San Francisco Chronicle.
"Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was [California] Assembly speaker. And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco."

I checked Wikipedia and saw no indication that Willie Brown's relationship with Harris was adulterous. Who the hell is Cari Kelemen anyway?

Also, what's the deal with the cult surrounding Tulsi Hubbard?

This does not help Joe Biden.

Trump calls Kamala Harris ‘the kind of opponent everyone dreams of’
https://www.politico.com/news/2020/08/1 ... ent-394188

Trump calls 'most liberal' Harris 'dangerous choice' for Biden: 'Not sure that's what the country wants'

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump- ... oice-biden

Trump's response:

1. Harris finished with single digit support in the Democrat primary (so not very liked).

2. Harris called Biden a racist. (can be used in negative attack tv ads)

3. Harris "is against petroleum". So that means she can't help win Texas, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, North Dakota.

4. Harris is "bad for the military", "bad for the 2nd amendment".

5. Harris supports the Green New Deal which Trump describes as "catastrophic for our country".

6. Harris treated SCOTUS nominee Kavanaugh in a nasty way. Trump: [Harris] "was the meanest, most horrible, most disrespectful of anybody in the U.S. Senate".

7. Harris is the most liberal Senator.

She's a highly intelligent individual but comes with baggage. Trump diving in early to score political points.

Trump was going to unload on any of Biden's VP picks.

Trump is the heavy handed troll who tries to thread a needle with a sledge hammer. In this case, he thinks his appeal to people's racism will work like it had before. If anything, it just shows how shallow his perception of all white Americans is, equating us all with his base.

Perhaps, but I'm hoping people are catching on to him.

Any truth in the legalities of this "birther" nonsense that Harris can't run as VP?

Trump and some law professor have invoked her eligibility on these grounds...

She spent the first 12 years of her life in Berkeley which is arguably outside the US proper, but technically she was born in Oakland so I don't think her eligibility can be questioned.

The sad thing is that local conspiracy theorist, Trumpsters, and right-wing nutjobs with CB radios have taken up Trump's "birther" message against Kamala Harris, and are promoting it as Truth.

Well, the Birther angle didn't work against Obama (it might even have helped him in the election), so I don't exactly think that the Democrats are too worried... they probably also saw it coming several light-years away.

Trump, on the other hand, decided to bring up the Birther argument against Kamala Harris just as he was about to score some political points on a major Israel - UAE peace deal which had probably taken months, if not years, to conclude...
