The study found they needed just as much mental care after hormones and surgery that they needed before. In other words, those treatments didn't provide any benefit.
That is opinion and not science. Did it say if their mood was improved? Did it show a reduce in suicidal ideation? Did it show reductions in antidepressant medication? Without any of that, it's a meaningless blank statistic.
Don't go pushing opinion on us as some pseudoscience pseudofact.
The opinion some people have is that living in the wrong body causes mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. Some parents are pressured into consenting to mutilate their children's body by being told stuff like would you rather have a daughter or a dead son with the implication their son will commit suicide if they don't get him surgically altered to make him look like a girl.
This study initially found that surgery and hormone treatments were helpful but a reanalysis after other researchers discovered flaws in their study found there were no benefits. "Transgenders" were just as depressed after surgery as they were before. It didn't fix their mental health issues.

According to a study funded by a group that is rabidly anti-queer. How many studies have supported this interpretation, how many haven't? This seems as credible as Philip Morris paying for studies that show smoking tobacco actually improves respiratory function.
