CNN news, at 4:50 A.M. Sunday, November 29, 2020, the Monolith was found to have flown back to the Mothership.
However long the ship’s shields were down for the re-entry of the probe, this apparently did not register with any of Earth’s observant satellites.

God...

or the space aliens..

took it back!

Are maybe it was confiscated by the Park service so it would no longer be an attractive nuisance luring hikers out into the desert.

So government employees are given holiday pay to drill into rocks and transport 13-foot chunks of metal through the desert, instead of encouraging people to visit/explore little-traveled areas of public land?
Bad decision.
Should have left it alone.

A mysterious monolith that went viral after its appearance in a remote Utah desert has been removed by an “unknown party,” according to officials. “We have received credible reports that the illegally installed structure, referred to as the ‘monolith’ has been removed from Bureau of Land Management (BLM) public lands by an unknown party,” said the Utah Bureau of Land Management, in a statement posted on social media. “The BLM did not remove the structure which is considered private property.” Officials said they received reports that a person or group removed the structure on the evening of Nov. 27.

Did whoever reported this happen to take pictures or videos of this outrage?

So ...

it WAS the aliens. And not government rangers who took it away!

Or ..

Maybe the human conceptual artist who created it has now taken it away...because having it vanish was part of his original...concept!

You can't have it. I didn't mean to leave it there.

Or maybe it was a souvenir hunter. Hmmm! That might look good in my backyard.

This isn't the first time that a monolith suddenly appears and just as suddenly disappeared.

"This isn't the first unexplained monolith that's appeared in the U.S. in recent years, including one that seems much more closely connected to Kubrick's film "2001: A Space Odyssey." On the eve of 2001, a steel monolith was discovered on "a windswept hilltop" in Seattle’s Warren Magnuson Park, according to the Los Angeles Times. The monolith measured 1 foot by 4 feet by 9 feet — a tribute to the first three prime numbers squared and an understanding of mathematics, as described in Clarke's book. Three days after the monolith appeared in the park, it disappeared just as mysteriously."
