Seems cruel.

But I guess if someone wants the remains, the county figures that person should pay for the cremation.

The Pacific Ocean is a lot better than other places he could be dumped.

I'm sorry, AB.

:( :(

^Agreed. The Pacific Ocean is actually a pretty fantastic place to be dumped. 8)

i myself, when it is my time, want my carcass to be placed on board a boat or raft and set adrift on the ocean. let the elements reduce me slowly and gracefully.

A nice though, I suppose.. but you’ll be seagull food as long as you float, and crab food once the gases subside.

Still a part of the cycle of life, though. 8)

I don't want to be scattered. Agoraphobia. ADHD. I'm scattered enough already. 8)

I thought I’d donate my body to the desert where the forensic people study how bodies decompose.

But really, I just want it to be easy for whomever has to make the arrangements. It’s about the ones who are left behind.

Good point! I've donated all my separate parts for transplant. I didn't select "whole body" though.

I don't care if I'm buried or cremated (kept all in one place). I just don't want to be scattered.

I had a client die recently whose body, health wise, was in really bad shape. His brother wanted to donate his organs but was told his body was not in good enough shape to be useful. Then some other organization stepped in to take the body - not for the high value organs like hearts and lungs, but for stuff like tissues and muscle and other research.
