Movie is being universally panned by critics

Somewhere out there Karen Walker from Will & Grace is laughing her ass off with a martini in her hand.

Probably about virtually every white woman outside of NYC, San Francisco, or Seattle.

My Mom is white and is from Georgia. She acts nothing like the character in this stupid film.

If you really think every white woman is a Karen you're wrong.

Hm, I think you are insulting a whole lot of the membership here with such a broad sweep.

I agree 100%. In fact frankly I think the whole Karen insult is a bit sexist too. There are indeed some racist white women out there, but how come nobody has ever come up with a similar name to mock racist white men who behave the exact same way?

Oh that's right, because it has always been easier and somehow more 'funny' for our culture to hate on women.

Just like that term 'Mary Sue' which I never liked either because there really is no male equivalent to that insulting term.

Oh and do NOT even get me started on the fact that this kind of movie is nothing more than propaganda!

As a fan of the "Karen" youtube videos I can attest there is equal representation of female karens with male "Kens" or "Darrens"

It's comedy, not meant to harm anyone, just don't watch it if you dont feel comfortable. That's all.

On the matter of the Karen videos, they have probably saved black people from jail or even saved their lives once the perpetrator realised they were being filmed trying to frame their victims.

You are all making too much of this. ‘Karen’ is a exploitation/horror flick. The ‘Karen’ in the film is a topical Jason or Freddy Krueger.

I think that may be an artifact of the term originating within the fan fic community, and women being over-represented among the authors of a certain type of fan fiction, rather than any type of sexism. I've heard the term Marty Stu used for the male equivalent, but it's usually called out by the more formal name for the trope, which is basically an overly idealized version of an author avatar.

For extra humor, her fictitious last name should be *White*.

*Karen White*. :D

The trailer could be mistaken for an SNL spoof!

Toss in a little taste of director George Romero into the stew, maybe!

Theyre back...from the DEAD!! !!

And...

They wanna talk to your supervisor!! !!

The "Night of the Living Karens"!

++++++++++

That ofcourse is the original meaning of "a Karen". A entitled complainer.

You could add racists overtones for the later meaning of "a Karen".

Some believe the term is Chad.

That’s Chad and Stacey.
Karen’s male equivalent is Ken.
