Russia Suspended From UN Human Rights Council For Systematic Abuses.

The UN General Assembly has voted to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council over reports of gross and systematic violations and abuses of human rights by invading Russian troops in Ukraine.

The resolution received 93 votes in favor, 24 against, and 58 abstentions.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba expressed his gratitude to the UN members who voted in favor of suspending Russia from the Geneva-based 47-member council, which is the UN’s leading human rights organization.

The suspension bars Moscow's delegation from speaking and voting, but its diplomats could still attend debates.

Good. The demons in charge of that country are the last people who should be involved in any kind of council centered around human rights. Pity they aren't man enough to take full responsibility for their actions. Hopefully they will be made to foot 100% of the bill once the conflict they're involved in finally ends.

They suspended the wrong country. The killings in Ukraine is done by Zelensky since 2014, not by Putin since 2022.

Ahem...
1. In 2014, Zelensky was just a regular comedian, not any kind of a politician.
2. It wasn't Russian territorial integrity violated since 2014.
3. I happen to have met some people who had to flee Donbas since 2014. The "rule" of the "separatists" included lootings and death threats. When, over time, it kind of stabilized, Feb 24 happened.
