The best comics are either gone or leaving soon.

He lived more years than most people. I'm sure a lot of people who heard the news said "I didn't know he was still alive!".

I never watched F Troop much. Or McHale's Navy. But I watched a lot of Hogan's Heroes.

I also watched McHale's navy but only really remembered Ernest Borgnine's character (couldn't remember the others).

Hogan's heroes was a classic. There was some rumor that Bob Crane was killed because his character made the Germans look like imbeciles. I don't know if there was any truth to that?

I remembered Captain Binghamton the most because of his funny voice. The routine between McHale and Binghamton was a lot like the one between Major Nelson and Dr. Bellows in I Dream of Jeannie.

Barbara Feldon who played Jeannie is 90 years old if you can believe that.

Just kidding, I know it was Barbara Eden. Feldon (Agent 99 in Get Smart) is 89, Eden is 90.

A little personal trivia. When I was about 10, a school friend lived near Barbara Eden. One I day went with him to an intercom, and he said "Mrs. Ansara, can Matthew come out to play?" And Barbara Eden explained that he couldn't. During that I exclaimed "wow it's really her!" and my friend elbowed me in the ribs.

I thought his murder had something to do with weird sex stuff he was into.

I think it was drug-related.

I watched all those shows, though McHale’s Navy not as much.

Indeed. Elizabeth Montgomery didn't share in their longevity though. I remember she died a long time ago. Bewitched was another show I watched a lot. One day when I was little I came across Richard X. Slattery, who played a cop in the show a few times, in a grocery store. I asked him "haven't I seen you on TV?" He said yes, and then mentioned "I can't find my rice".

Loved Elizabeth Mongomery's smile.

I was shocked to hear about Darren though
