The Calvine Photo: World’s ‘best ever’ UFO image revealed

This is the infamous UFO photo dubbed by some as the “world’s best” as it shows a huge diamond-shaped object pictured flying over the Scottish Highlands.
The so-called “Calvine Photograph” – which was for decades considered lost – has finally been uncovered after a years of research by academic and journalist Dr David Clarke, The Sun reports.

Showing what seems to be a huge angular object with what appears to be a Harrier jet in the distance, the image is an extraordinary piece of the UFO puzzle.





It was taken at around 9pm on August 4, 1990, by two hikers on a hillside near Calvine, just off the A9 some 35 miles (56 kilometres) northwest of Perth in Scotland.

The men – whose identities remain unknown to this day – claim they watched the metallic object hovering with a low hum for around 10 minutes, while fighter jets made passes in the distance.

It was taken by two hikers whose “identity remains unknown.” That sounds fishy.

It’s probably just a hoax.

I think now the likelihood for anonymous people to hoax something like UFOs (which are proven to no longer be an existential phenomena) is low, especially as there is zero publicity for the two men involved.

But of course it would be good to forensically investigate the photo.

Metallic? Could be a Mylar baloon.

Why?

People do stuff like that all the time, whether there’s publicity or not. People made crop circles anonymously for decades before some came forward.

Until there’s definitive proof, disbelief is the rational stance to take.

The crop circle narrative that two drunken Englishmen with wooden planks created complex fractal designs in the pitch dark was quite silly. Of course many are hoaxes and done for the purpose of art

So the impetus to hoax them is somewhat deflated, but yes this was 1990 so anything is possible

Also, Googling "The Calvine Photo" and checking the images seems to indicate there are several versions - and the one posted here seems to have been manipulated. Or have the others?

Agreed, but the photo is interesting and deserves a closer look.

Sure, there are unidentified flying objects (in a literal sense). That doesn’t mean that they are alien spaceships or hypersonic aircrafts.

You don’t think it’s a hoax or a balloon, so what do you think it signifies?

Maybe I’m incorrectly remembering posts you’ve made in the past on this topic.

I think a hoax is the likeliest explanation.

Googling "The Calvine Photo" shows it's not the same as all the other Calvine photos, and that's immediately suspicious.
Isn't this supposed to be an image of one event?
