Even the Moon doesnt actually have a "dark" side.
Both have a "far" side. With the moon the far side is permanently away from our view, and the near side is always the same one side we can see (because the Moon is tidally locked in it orbit around the Earth). But the sun spins, and the earth orbits the sun so we see both sides, but only one side at any given moment (like with most objects). And fortunately, the sun choose the opposite side from us to ...do its projectile vomiting this time. So Venus will get it, but not us.
