Michigan Supreme Court rejects case to remove Trump from 2024 ballot

Quote:
The Michigan Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected an effort to remove former President Donald Trump from the state’s primary ballot in 2024.

The court’s order blocks efforts to remove Trump from the 2024 ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which states no one who has “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” after having sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution can hold office.

In a brief order issued Wednesday, the court said it declined to hear a case arguing that Trump should be left off of the state's ballot because it is “not persuaded that the questions presented should be reviewed by this court.”

Courts in Arizona and Minnesota have also ruled against similar efforts to get Trump kicked off the ballot.

The GOP should remove that insurrectionist f**k from their primary ballot.. because the US constitution commands it.

They won't, and even if they did, people could still vote for him as a write-in candidate in the general election. And as long as his supporters believe that white, straight, cis, Christian men are being "persecuted", they will.

And remember, this is Michigan. If you think the plot to kidnap Whitmer was horrifying, because she asked people to wear face masks, imagine what these people would do if removal from the ballot would result in a virtually certain Democratic victory.

They wouldn't support him. Their pressing need to have a bunch of guns and misgender trans people online is too great.
