A young woman who believes she is missing British child Madeleine McCann has shared “evidence” to support her claims – allegedly prompting the McCanns to agree to a DNA test.
Julia Wendell, from Poland, went viral after launching an Instagram account named @iammadeleinemcann, which stated she began wondering if she was Maddie “a few months ago” after hearing “something” from her grandma.

The 21-year-old has since shared a string of photographs she claims prove her likeness to the missing girl – and amassed a following of almost 500,000 who are gripped by the latest twist in one of the world’s most infamous unsolved cases.

Madeleine McCann, from Leicestershire in the United Kingdom, went missing from her bed in a holiday apartment in the Portuguese resort town Praia da Luz on the evening of May 3, 2007.

A mole on her left cheek is what she claims gives away her identity

For reference, this is Maddie's parents and an image of how she might look

Wendell isn't a Polish surname is it?

Does she have the mark in her eye?
Where did this girl come from? (Is she adopted?)

I think if the parents aren't freaking out, they know she's already dead.

Oh good question!! but doesn't that kind of thing disappear as you get older?

I'd assume not, but I don't know.

I thought they were quite definitive she was killed by that weird pedo guy.

The parents could ask anyone to get a DNA test and say "Whoops! Negative!"

Unless they're totally freaking out I wouldn't take it seriously.
Also if they WERE totally freaking out, they would / could have had DNA done the same day.

We will find out when the DNA results are announced.  Out of 8,000,000,000+ people on this planet, it seems reasonable that at two unrelated women will have the same features.

It would be fascinating if it were her.
Is she the right age too? (must Google).

It seems she'd be interested to meet the parents if she's a match.
That would be so hard on her presumably adoptive family.

The psychology would be intense.

I still remember when they found Elizabeth Smart.
I nearly had a coronary.

Maddie was born 12 May 2003, so she would be 19 now.
This girl is 21.

I suppose the birthdate could be fudged though.

So that seems to be one of three things so far
1. her eyes
2. age
3. her apparent appearance not quite resembling the Mcanns

I don't think the bridge of her nose matches.
Little Maddie's nose was the same thickness all the way down.
Big Maddie's nose is slim with wider nostrils.

The mouth is pretty close.
Chin -- not sure.
Hard to see the eyes.

They say the easiest way to compare two people visually is the ears.
All those swirly inner bits are like a fingerprint, plus the size and the earlobes.

Have a look at the noses, they look quite similar despite the age difference

Oh wait! I just realised the pictures I posted are of a different adult Maddie.

That's not the same look-alike as cyber posted.

My bad. It came up first in Google.

There's also something weirdly similar about her smile

I think it's a false claim. This cases always bring out hundreds of pretenders. The features don't match up with the parent's features and the IA aging projection. It would be nice if it was true, but I just don't see it.

Julia Wendell (the girl in the photo from Poland) posted this comparison with her and Maddie when she was younger

This does look strikingly similar, I can certainly see what all the fuss is about
