That's terrible! This is most certainly a humanitarian disaster that needs international aid, especially as Libya is such a poor and divided country that is unable to handle the situation themselves.

Yes. They just had that earthquake in Morrocco, and now this.

At least Morrocco was at peace before it happened. Libya is like Syria (which had an quake recently) in having man made strife on top of a natural disaster.

And what's with all of these "ten inch rain falls" we are suddenly seeing in the news from around the world? New England just had one. Europe had them. The desert country Libya now gets one. We just had a three inch rainfall in my little county just now in the middle of the night ( was hearing the flash flood warnings tonight just now as we speak).

And the brush fire in Maui.

Almost forgot. So many disasters. You dont even hear about it anymore.

All of those missing people. I guess are still missing.

Because to them:

1. Trusting science = questioning God

2. Addressing climate change would mean voting in people who want to "take their guns" and "keep them from praying"

3. It would mean parting with their monster, gas-guzzling pickup trucks. (Guns and behemoth pickup trucks are two elemenrs of what I call the "redneck trifecta"-- the third is country music)

We are past the tipping point .It will only get worse. Especially for poorer countries who don’t have the resources to deal with disasters.
The Ozarks broke a heat index record, feels like temp of 122.

All because people would rather (literally) let the world burn than not be mentally stuck in the 1950s.
