They also invented powdered water but they don't know what to mix it with.

Wasn't this a Wonka invention in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?

I think that was the chewing gum that never lost its flavour.

^Nah, I searched the text:

Grandpa Joe wrote:
He has some really fantastic inventions up his sleeve, Mr Willy Wonka has! Did you know that he’s invented a way of
making chocolate ice cream so that it stays cold for hours and hours without being in the refrigerator? You can even leave it lying in the sun all morning on a hot day and it won’t go runny!’

It was the theft of this invention by Fickelgruber that led to Willy Wonker laying off all his human staff and replacing them with Oompa Loompas.

Maybe the same scientists can turn me into a no melt person.

In the book Charlie and the Chocolate factory, Willy Wonka did apparently invent ice cream that never melted, even if you left it in the sun all day. But that was just a story.

I like my ice cream a little melted, though. Sometimes I've let it sit out a minute before eating it. I also like how it softens the ice cream cone and makes it all squishy.

I too would be concerned by a Wonka icecream that remained a solid lump even at boiling point.

At best this is going to be introducing more unnecesary chemicals into the human diet. At worst its the result of some kind of luciferian pact.

^That was my first thought: more chemicals. But supposedly this uses plant compounds that are actually less artificial than the stabilizing compounds that are used now.

Still, this is not very appealing.

Japan Sells Non-melting ice cream

^Article from 2017. As usual, the west trails our Eastern counterparts.

Don't know if it's the same (I'm not going to install the app to read the OP story), but this version uses a compound extracted from strawberries.

I'm suspicious of so called 'organic' compounds. How much processing was required to remove said compound? High fructose corn syrup is technically organic. Doesn't mean it isn't bad for you.

No melt ice cream was apparently also on sale at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando.
