Autistic boys’ mum started her own school

“I’m a person who never gives in and always keeps going,” said Anna who says the school’s aim is to offer an education along mainstream lines.

“We advertised for a head in The Time Educational Supplement and have very special staff.

“We provide one to one support which is more complex and intensive.

“It is my passion to give the children a better quality of life.”

Which is also why she aims to set up a dating agency for autistic adults - to help them get romance in their lives.

How large is this school started by this mother? How many kids does it serve?

Here in Central New York State there is an excellent, large facility called, the "Kelberman Center For Autism"and it was started by Dr. Michael Kelberman, M.D. who is a practicing Cardiologist and has a young son with Autism. The Kelberman Center For Autism continues to grow and expand with a preschool program, a school for older kids, provides speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, has an awesome summer camp for kids ages six to fifteen and even residential housing for kids and adults who need such supportive housing.

The Kelberman Center For Autism even has a website for anyone interested in learning more about this great facility and its programs and services for kids and adults living with Autism and Asperger's Syndrome...just Google...KELBERMAN CENTER FOR AUTISM.
