Somehow your toilet seat is cleaner than the floor. Mythbuster thing dealing the five second rule.

In all honesty, who cares?

People who worry about these are those who worry about getting cancer from fruit.

I'll go sleep with the farm animals tonight. Just to show how badass and uncaring I am.

Fancy that. So they're saying I shouldn't use my keyboard to hold my bagel? But my mind will always be the dirtiest of all the things I have.

No one's worried. It's just an interesting fact.

Not that it makes it any better, but from my reading of an article on same subject, the toilets & keyboards were ones in contact with, used (touched) by multiple people-in an office, I suppose. I don't work, so the keyboard & toilet in my home have no one else's cooties on them except mine. Do wash my hands after toilet & also when I come in from being outdoors/in public somewhere-in case I got germs while away from home (agoraphobic & don't go out much)

Suggestion at end of article said to hold one's keyboard upside down & shake. That doen't work well enough for mine. Am too cheap to buy those cans of compressed air for the purpose. Does anyone have any good hints for how to clean one's keyboard ? There's all sorts of fluff, dust, hair, etc. trapped beneath the keys in the frame area (has clear underside, so I can see all the gunk in there). I can rub Q-tip over tops & edges of each individual key, but that doesn't get down to the real messy section beneath...

This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I wash my hands frequently - definitely after the loo! - and often after eating, and clean my keyboard and desk with alcohol wipes twice a week, and it's STILL always black with grime. Revolting.

How can a keyboard, which usually doesn't come in contact with human waste, be dirtier than a toilet, which does? If I pissed and shat all over my keyboard instead of in the bowl, then I could see how that coud be true. C'mon people, the dirtiest things a keyboard sees are dust and food-particles. This myth looks doubtful, but don't expect me to test it.

Don't believe everything you read.

Because a lot of people don't bother washing their hands, and then go and type on the keyboard, which never gets washed, but toilets do?
