I thought it was an interesting story. This is a good reason against allowing vigilance when nothing's proven.

Remember that father in Massachusetts who was beaten to death by the father of another young hockey player...and his small
sons stood by watching in horror?

Violence should never be allowed for any reason!

Yea, Vigilantism is a really touchy subject. And really should only be used in cases where the crime is still in progress and official law enforcement is unavailable.

This seems to be an unfortunate case of mistaken identity. Hopefully it will be resolved with all guilty parties behind bars (including the assailant who set off this whole mess)

Vigilantism is a barbaric act in society.

I am appalled at the people who prefer such actions over legal systems, but I would not be so negative if the person IS guilty of the act and the legal system did not bring justice. However, this does not give the people a right to go on a witch-hunt.

In either case, a person should be punished only when the person is known to have committed a punishable crime.
