David Byrne was diagnosed in adulthood, if someone is diagnosed as an adult, it means they still always had it. Mount Everest was discovered in only the 1700's or so, but obviously it has always been there before then.

The well known actor Anthony Hopkins is also said to have ASD! (He was in movies like The Silence of the Lambs, Amistad, Meet Joe Black and many other great films).
He's one of the best actors around in my opinion.

The book Radioactive: How Irène Curie and Lise Meitner Revolutionized Science and Changed the World, by Winifred Conkling has an adequately detailed summary of the personalities of Marie and Irène Curie, as well as Lise Meitner. Whilst all descriptions seem to indicate autistic traits of these physicists, Irène Curie seems to be autistic, as she was the very preoccupied with her work (hyperfixation), was considered rude for speaking directly, and preferred math and science work even on holiday. Whilst this is all speculation on my behalf, it seems to me as though these recounts suggest Irène Curie had a greater number of autistic traits than the typical person at the minimum.
