My room is MINE, it's my castle, my lair, my headquarter, that's why I lock the door!

Locks <3 the only thing that can hold a 12 year old ADHD, Tourette brother out!
Even though he can pick the lock...

I have locked my door since I was 8 I think it's because he crushed my buildings
of Lego which I used alot when I was younger imagine King Kong v. a city...

UPDATE: I wedged a jenga block under my door so no one can get in now.

What about different views on privacy and personal space? Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Personally, I have a hard time distinguishing between activities that should be done in private and ones that are fine for public observation (according to society). I am often labeled with names like "flasher", "exhibitionist", and "sexual deviant", and I really don't understand which of my activities merit them. I really don't care anymore, but sometimes I with we had a guidebook on how to behave in society (as they expect you to).

Let's just say that I prefer all my doors with locks.

I feel your pain, OP. I want locks on my door but my mum's got angry at me for it. If I really feel I need to get away from everyone, I'll lock myself in the bathroom with my laptop.

Oh well, off to uni this year anyway
