Ok, so I know i'm always saying i'm moving but this time its for reals. After talking to my dad again on the phone (again) he sugjested we both get a two bedroom apartment together, wich seems like a great idea. My only problem is i havent changed in the last 10 years and told my dad "dont expect me to be some talkative person" its going to be like last time.
He agreed and it wont bother him. He said he can hook me up with a woman and i thought that was a little strange but whatever

Basically i'm going to play baskettball and watch TV and eat, with occasional breaks inbetween of whoring my sportscard collection and stuff. I might even be down at the sportscard shop talking to the guy about cards but thats going to be it

Anyways, i'm nervous because my uncles are always going to be over and one of them is a real piece of freaking work. I think hes a great guy and everything but i just dont want to deal with it, my other uncle is cool as hell :D

I'm also having fights with myself about if I should take my belongings. naturally i'm only taking my clothes, sporstcards and rocks. It seems like i've aquired alot of crap these last two years and I didnt know i had so much stuff.

California doesnt seem so bad

I was born and raised in California. Honestly, your experience here will depend greatly on the area you will be staying.

Also, earthquakes are only common on the San Andreas fault. Even those are generally mild.

You should still make sure to have an earthquake kit just in case.

I've never been there. When I do ice cream places, I prefer Cold Stone.

There are no jobs and the state is facing an economic collapse. In a ditch effort to stay fiscally solvent, they are trying to shake the citizens down with every fee and fine they can get away with. You should stay where you are at for now.

While it's true California is not doing so well financially right now, I think you exaggerate a bit.

The SF Bay Area is slightly better off than the rest of the state. Silicon Valley is one of the few areas of the economy that is still doing, not well, but ok. The shakedown part is only bad if you drive, or own land. He said he'll be renting, and I don't know if he drives. Drivers are being pulled over by the crapload and written tickets to provide fee revenue. I would prefer Arizona myself, and plan to move to Nevada, way out in the desert where I can raise my own food and don't have to interact with anybody. I wouldn't recommend living with parents, especially not two men in a 2 bed apt. Even drinking buddies can be at each other's throats after a while in such an environment, and it sounds like he and his dad didn't have the best relationship. What happens if they can't find work?

I dont drive or work. I supose sometimes i get over exited and usually dont think things through all the times, you're right though, me and my dad havent really gotten along. I lived with him a little over 10 years ago and it was a complete disaster

Maybe i'll stay here and still live out of a backpack.

I think you need to go live with your father and try to make it work. If it doesn't, there are plenty of things you can do to change the situation.

Nobody should have to live out of a back pack in this country.
