Like you're an elaborate joke that other people aren't letting you in on? Like people are grinning behind your back (or even in front of you)? Like you don't know how to stop it? Like you feel you're a bit mad? Like you say random things?

I feel like such a nutter sometimes… :(

Yep, ive come to the conclusion that either i really am very paranoid about everyone around me or everyone really is plotting against me.

It's not that they're plotting against me. More like I think they're laughing at me or taking the Michael about me behind my back. Or they're staring at me/thinking I'm an idiot. Which I probably am.

I used to be pretty paranoid, until I was put on anxiety medication. Severe anxiety is what was causing it.

I consider this as plotting against me. It's usually what i think of. Everytime someone looks at me i go off thinking why did they take the second to look over at me, what are they going to do about it, what are they saying which now i believemay be related negatively towards me, etc...

Someone in grade school said that I seem paranoid, but my history includes not picking up on cues that indicate that some people are against me, and then finding out after the fact that they were and not responding quickly enough to do anything about it. I don't have the delusional sort of paranoia involving black helicopters, chip implants, radio waves and the like.

Just because you're not paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

Paranoia does not exist! Everyone is out to get you! Sorry. That's the brutal truth. Live with it! 1984 is here folks. The cell phones are tracking you, camera's are everywhere, everyone is tracking your internet activity and keeping files and data on you. The various spy agencies are watching you and the secret police are listening to everything you say. Yes, we have secret "citizen" police in the US. Welcome to life in the 21st century.

I don't have a mobile phone. Don't want one. My Internet activity would create a few ripples I think - nothing illegal, just bizarre stuff I look at (a weird preoccupation with dentistry and broken teeth anyone?!). I'm already seen as being a bit of a nutter anyway.

Someone said today that I was a very random person and then proceeded to ask if I'd ever been glassed. Most odd. I babble and talk at length. I can't tell what people are thinking of me 'cos I have no theory of mind. I can't look at the big picture, so I think sometimes people are having me on. I don't think people can get inside my head but I'm sure they can see what I am thinking. It's odd.

I'm not normal.

I think I could be a bit on the paranoid side, whenever I misplace something I start thinking someone else hid it from me. Usually, in the back of my mind I know thats ridiculous, because I don't think my family is so bad they would actually take random things of mine and hide them but I can't help being stuck on the idea someone must have hid whatever I'm looking for even though I know thats not the case.

Also I hate when random people look at me, especially if the same person does that more then once.....then I get worried about what they are thinking and why they keep looking at me. Like the other day I was in a study lounge at my college and some older woman kept looking at me or at least turning her head in my direction but it felt like she was looking at me. I decided she just had no life and felt like looking down on someone though I have no idea what she was thinking.

And the most unusual thing is sometimes I feel like there is someone behind me or watching me......when there is no one any where around me. That can be odd.

I'm the same. I think its quite common for those with poor social skills. When I was a kid, they WERE doing it, so i'm used to the norm that people do do it, whether that continues in adult life or not.

I feel like the butt of every joke when I walk down the street, or if I pass two teenage girls in the street I automatically assume they're saying horrible things about me when out of ear shot.

Oh, I get that too so I understand where you're coming from.

I find that it's become more pronounced lately. That and the aggression. Asperger's people tend not to have much of a theory of mind so we can't guess what other people are thinking. Well, we can try. But we might be wrong.

Anyway, I'm seeing the doctor about this.

My Dad has aspergers and he thinks that too. It may be to do with our brains, because Mum is an NT, and she got picked on at school, but she doesn't have paranoia about it.

I thought I was paranoid and a bit mad, but the voices in my head told me to stop being so silly.

I think it is good to have a healthy amount of paranoia so people won't take advantage of you,
but as long as you are not too anxious.
