excited for my trip to yosemite this week. wondering how i'm gonna pretend to be sick at work so i can make it.
i don't know if i have snow boots or thick socks (not that it will definitely snow there, but it's likely)

but i probably don't. if i don't buy them before leaving - not that i would be able to justify it with my increasingly tight financial situation and my outstanding pair of parking tickets - i'll definitely buy some at REI or something before moving to the much more chronically muddy and wet PNW.

this january. very excited. i haven't changed residence since 2003 and have never lived away from my parents at all so i don't know what to expect anyway.

I'm trying to relocate to Seattle, which is my third choice, after being priced out of NYC and the SF Bay Area.

i wish you luck, all of king county [containing seattle] is horribly expensive, not just the cost of real estate/rent but the cost of groceries and everything else is through the roof. if you don't make 6+ figures, forget about king county. pierce county to its south [containing tacoma] is somewhat more affordable for the time being, thurston county [south of pierce county and containing state capitol Olympia] more affordable still. last affordable place is mason county, a lot of californicatin' is happenin' here also but less so than the more desirable northern counties. but i repeat, seattle is hopeless in terms of affordability unless you make 6 figures, if you don't believe me, the national chamber of commerce says that average income to even begin to afford seattle is $90k/annum.

I'm trying to get into tech so I can make 6 figures so I can live there.

It's easier than trying to stage a revolution in Texas.

i really think you should at least consider tacoma or olympia, as well.
