I disagree. I think that views like these should be aired and challenged.

Only if wasn't white, by the sounds of it.

If I needed an urgent operation, I wouldn't care who was doing the surgery if they were competent.

Yes but PTSmorrow said that attractive people were smarter, so I was going on that theory of his (which I disagree with)

When you've worked for Birmingham City Council for 10 years, believe me you know how certain statements are going to be received by certain people!

And I bet he's a stunner himself. ;)

I'll take what I can get and what I can stand, frankly. ;)

Me too

I've also never seen the point in needlessly insulting other peoples' looks either

It demonstrates an unkind personality

If you actually need an explanation, how about this one: I love the way white skin looks, I love women with white skin and bright eyes -- gray eyes are the most beautiful ones I've ever seen, blue and green ones are amazing too, I love the straight and silky hair only white women possess, not the frizzy scourer of negroes, I love the way white faces are shaped, and not those of other races. I find other races butt ugly.

So... what you're saying is, you only interact with people you find attractive? Only women?

PTSmorrow wrote:
It's about aesthetic preferences. There are men who like piercings and tattoos in women -- I don't. And there are also men who prefer interracial dating and mating -- obviously, their preferences are commonly accepted. Then why not my preference for unadulterated white women?

No, that's not what people are confused about. It's fine if you have a romantic/sexual preference for people of specific races, just like it's fine to have a romantic/sexual preference toward any/all gender(s). It just strikes me as odd that you'd go so far as to vet your social (and perhaps even professional?) circle of any and all non-whites.

PTSmorrow wrote:
Furthermore, if everyone looks the same, how could you distinguish them?

How do you distinguish all those silky-haired, bright-eyed, light-skinned women you're always hanging around with?

They are looking different, there are many details that distinguish them from each other -- btw, white people can have blonde, brunette, red, or hazel hair ... there's, like I mentioned about eye colors, a huge variety within the white race, whereas all the other ones have is one color, black. And shades of it. Not really inspiring.

I can't distinguish people of other races by their faces and I don't aim to do so. For me, their faces look all the same. Arabs look like arabs, and so on.

It is my right to choose with whom I interact. And it is my right to choose who I hire. If I don't wish to be surrounded by other races and if I don't wish someone other than white to cook my meals, I can choose. It's that simple. And also applies to anyone and anything else. If you don't like dogs, for instance, you choose not to live with them. For other people, dogs may be wonderful and adorable pets, but it all comes down to what a person likes or dislikes and their freedom to make a choice.

Take whatever you want. Food, music, clothing, literature, colors ... there's always a variety one can choose from.

I'm straight, so yes. Of course, my male friends are also white. Why would I want to interact with unattractive, bad--looking people? And btw, because I have a hunch that might come up next, they are smart. Being attractive doesn't mean being stupid. Just the opposite.

That's another reason why I'm proud to be white. White people are the smartest ones. Virtually all the achievements, inventions, and discoveries of the modern era were made by white people.

Is this some kind of writing exercise for a novel? I mean are you writing a fantasy story, and just getting some ideas out on the forum? Or maybe is it some elaborate troll?

This is pretty much blatantly racist and bigoted, I don't think it's just a simple matter of "this is my opinion, deal with it" you're saying things that are hurtful to specific groups of people who(while it may shock you to be told this) ALSO FREQUENT THESE FORUMS.

And it's hard for some people to speak up about this kind of stuff, it's even hard for me to write this because I know it's not always coming across the way I intend it to and even if it's perfectly clear what I intend, some people are going to think ill of my opinions. But it's not a matter of it being my opinion that you're wrong, it's a matter of it being my opinion that you're saying things that are hateful and hurtful to a lot of people based on their ethnicity or just their physical appearance.

Even if their looks are their fault and they're making an exhibition of themselves? I'm not talking about fat people or black people or whatever.

Here a quote,

Quote:
A racist is a man who honors his race, reveres his ancestry, prefers -- like virtually everyone -- to be with his own kind, and believes that his genetic inheritance is worth preserving in the same way that liberals believe that the spotted owl, snail darter, American Indians and Australian aborigines are worth preserving.
[i]

My final word, this is what it ultimately boils down to. I don't curtail other people's rights to socialize, date, mate, live with whoever they wish to -- from my point of view, every person may be and act as interracial, liberal, gay, bisexual or whatever they wish and I give a crap about it. It's not my cup of tea what others do.

But I have the same right to make own personal decisions, that's what I started with. My right to choose has the very same value as theirs. End of story.

It's not about that - when you describe other ethnicity outside of your own as being inferior, it's going to make people feel alienated when they read that. I think even more so if no one is challenging what you say as being wrong, because it's almost like silence condones the words of others, and the entire conversation becomes problematic.

Oh, I don't know - people making a massive freakshow of themselves by studding their entire face with tattoos/piercings, people who have racist tattoos, that sort of thing.

Essentially I'm just on about people who have made a quite conscious choice to look ludicrous.

I agree

In my opinion it's fine to have your own thoughts on such matters but once you put them out into the public forum you run the risk of being defined as a racist in the negative sense of the word

I also think everyone has discriminatory views of some kind or other - the difference is in terms of whether they make the effort not to upset others with these views

Yup - no-one is inferior because of their race. They might come from a less civilised culture but that doesn't make them inherently inferior as people or their culture to be permanently inferior even if it changes.

You're advocating political correctness and suppression of free speech, which has worked wonderfully in this country over the last couple of decades.

I'd rather my enemies/opponents are above ground where I can see 'em if it's all the same with you.

I might think it looked weird or unattractive but I feel no compulsion to let them know this is what I think or go on about it - this is where I seem to differ from a lot of people
