I play a game called Lord of the Rings Online. And I've recently started rereading the LotR books (also online on my phone) and I get to this passage about this ancient winding twisting mountain road lined with old statues and then broken pillars of black stone.

And I thought to myself 'hey I've been on that road!' And I knew exactly what their destination was going to look like and who was going to be there to greet them. I just found that to be an interesting experience. And also am more impressed with the game developers for designing all these places so accurately.

A good friend of mine(also autistic) is fluent in writing in Runes. He regularly does his class notes in them, much to the chagrin of his teachers.

Lol I bet even professor Tolkien would have gotten annoyed with that.

I knew someone is school good at calligraphy who liked writing in elvish script. In Middle Earth there was the cursive style Tengwar letters usually written with quill or brush by elves. And then the Cirth runes that were usually scratched or carved onto wood and stone by dwarves. But all that was interchangeable.

The horned snow-beast cloak was free from the sack of gifts. The tunic and shoulder mantle were 35 yule tokens each. The snow-beast boots were 50 yule tokens and 1 golden token. The mittens were 250 lotro points. The rabbit was 75 yule tokens.

lotro points can be bought with real money (although what I have has been awarded) so it could be said the mittens cost somewhere around £2.00

Is that reasonable ? Is this money you picked up the game , or is it in game purchases ?

It's all in game currency. With the possible exception of the lotro points which I described above in an edit. You can't buy tokens. At least not "legally". You gotta grind for them. One can also buy all of those outfit pieces if they're up for auction using in-game gold. A lot of players go that route instead of grinding, which has made me in-game rich.
