I don't believe suicide amongst Aspies significantly reduces lifespan.

In order for that to happen, many thousands of Aspies would have to commit suicide.

You're almost on to something there.

Sounds like you do not understand what an average means.

Quote:
av·er·age
/ˈav(ə)rij/

noun
1.
a number expressing the central or typical value in a set of data, in particular the mode, median, or (most commonly) the mean, which is calculated by dividing the sum of the values in the set by their number.
"the housing prices there are twice the national average"

Now you're trying to be difficult, for some reason.

I know what an "average," a "mode," and a "mean" is.

It's not cool to be condescending.

I was told the same thing 12 years ago. I have not had one better day since then.

It was not my intention to be condescending. It was merely an observation.

That the average life span is 36 does not mean that once I turned 37 there was suddenly less of a probability that I could die in the immediate future. As I said, that is not what an average means.

Bully for you, Bro!

Glad you're having fun.....

Sometimes, I just think you're online just to pull some chains. I doubt you would talk that way to the real people you see day to day.

Sometimes just trying to notice the little things . That do work . That if they did not ...how much extra stress that those things might cause in you. ?? Things that you might normally take for granted.

Nah. Its all good.

I started this because I was going through another depression spout. I feel like I'm in a better head space now. But reading posts was setting me somewhat. I need to be careful about that.

Mind if I ask you a question, Dorkseid?

Does rhetorical debate based on rules of logic improve your depression?

It's the other way around. Brain trying to skew logic to match subjective reality and emotions. If you feel miserable, your brain will cherrypick and exaggerate every excuse why. It has nothing to do with actual formal logic and objective reality.

Right. It can manifest in that way.

But I'm suspecting that the very act of debating is something which is somewhat pleasurable to the person, and hence dilutes the depression at least a little bit. It might act as sort of a diversion.

If I'm wrong, do tell me. As long as communication is done on civil terms, I have no problem with constructive criticism.
