I'd rather be at home doing something I enjoy than getting plastered at the bar on a Saturday night. Reading seems much more enjoyable than being out somewhere getting loaded.

i wish i had spent my 20s staying in reading books instead of being the alcoholic drug addict whore i was.that was a complete waste of 10 years of my life because i wasnt even conscious most of the time

im lucky to be alive today but i am suffering with physical health issues from organ damage

had i spent that decade sitting in reading books i probably wouldnt be suffering health problems now

going out getting drunk aint the be all you know

I'm sorry to hear that.

Personally I love reading. I also listen to podcasts about certain books. Admittedly I've even written fanfiction. I was a little disappointed it didn't get any comments, but at least I can tell some people enjoyed it based on the likes and the bookmarks. People keep telling me I should write my own story because I have all these character illustrations I made when I was bored but no story to go with them.

Despite this, I grow weary if I'm stuck inside too long. That's why I'm trying to arrange a trip with my friends. I don't get out much and I would like to get out more.

I say yes

I'M NOT saying you should stop reading BUT adding more meaning to your life is always a good thing

People on this thread automatically talking about things extroverts like to do as other stuff to explore but there's plenty of introvert stuff to explore

if you feel a need to do more stuff then go for it, you might find something you enjoy doing and therefore add more joy to your life. And you never know, it could open a new path for you that you never thought was possible

You have one life. Live it exactly as you wish as far as you are able.

No need to criticize people who like to drink or have sex or whatever - each to their own.

I've always struggled with reading. I'm probably at the level of about a 7 year old but I push myself to read books that a far above my reading ability.

To be able to read is an absolute gift. I wish I'd have been able to read when I was growing up because I would like to think that it would have kept me from getting into so much trouble.
