I wouldn't get rid of my autism. Suddenly becoming NT wouldn't erase the 20 years of altered social and emotional development that I've had so far, so it wouldn't really fix any of my issues.

How would you feel if you had a kid and they were diagnosed with autism? (If this already has happened, how did you feel about it?)

My girl is diagnosed as HFA. I felt a little bit surprised because to be honest, I always thought she was ADHD instead. She's likely both, and she's just in the process of securing an ADHD assessment now.

She does have a lot of sensory issues related to ASD but I guess compared to me at Level 2, her issues didn't stand out to me until we went through the developmental questions.

I hope her ADHD can be done quickly. We're looking at a six month waitlist right now.

same question re ASD.

If I had a kid and they were diagnosed with ASD I would feel bad for giving them autism with my crappy genes, but I wouldn't be bothered by them being autistic. I'd honestly probably have an easier time raising an autistic kid in certain aspects, because I find it hard to deal with and relate with NT children.

Do you find it harder to deal with NT or autistic children?

I can't say. I've only really dealt with MD who is ASD and most likely ADHD, and my boy who is ODD, ADHD, and born to two drug addicts. I don't know a lot of autistic kids otherwise although I worked with some years ago. I guess it depends on their level of needs. I'd have a hard time with a totally nonverbal child, or a child who had very low functional abilities.

Thanks Isabella. My exam tomorrow is on market analysis for private investors. It's a very dull subject, but its open book and 24 hours so it should be doable.

My son got diagnosed before I did and my gp said whatever he has, we can send you for an assessment. My daughter was then assessed after I pushed it as apparently she was copying her brother  I think I'd already accepted both so it was fine.

Do I find NT or autistic children easier, it depends on the child tbh. I use to work with children from babies - 11 so I get on with children well. My son was easy as he's very independent, my daughter is clingy and very girly so very different from my natural likes and dislikes. Its literally like someone cloned my sister and gave her to me. I find her hard work, but we're also best buds according to her. As for NT children, I can't stand naughty children so as long as they weren't to naughty I'm good :)

How much of a thrill seeker are you?

That sounds like a wee bit of Hell to me.

Good luck!

Thrill seeking: Not much. I like rollercoasters, and loud rock concerts if they're indoors. I like flying.

I don't know if I'd bungee jump or go on any crazy adventures though.

My boy jumped out of an airplane. I know for sure I wouldn't do that - not so much that I'd be scared, but because I have a responsibility to stay alive since I'm a single parent.

I'm kind of a thrill seeker. As long as I don't have a significant chance of actually dying from doing something. lol

Same question.

I don't consider myself a "thrill seeker."

Same question.

i avoid thrills and seek safe harbor in things most others find deadly boring.

choose one-
grilled cheddar cheese sandwich with crisp bacon stuffed in it, on sourdough bread fried in butter on both sides
or
breaded and BBQ fried chicken breasts and drumsticks?

Chicken as I'm not a big fan of cheese.

I get viruses often. (And strokes and migraines lol). ^

I don't spill often but I drop, break, lose, and accidentally dismember things fairly often.

I spill a glass of water about three or four times a year.

same question.

I manage to spill things even while I am drinking. Earlier I got water up my nose. lol

I also usually get sick whenever I leave the house, though I haven't been getting ill since people have been wearing masks. I am a strep throat and ear infection magnet, and irl public schooling was not fun due to that.

Do you get fatigued often?
