I wonder if the person who invented the days of the week worked it out right

I wish Jack Hargreaves was still around.

I think they picked the worst reasonable number because it's the first post-3 prime. Can't divide it evenly, doesn't match up with any other system (e.g. decimal, circular degrees, clock, etc.). Any other nearby number would have been better.

Yeah but how did they know that Thursday is Thursday

How can they be certain that they didn't put Thursday where Wednesday should be for instance

They knew that if they were wrong, Thor and Woden would set them straight.

Mind you they would have mucked it up good and proper when they took 10 days out of the calendar a few centuries later. That's probably why we get so many thunderstorms that aren't on Thursdays.

A part of me wants to move on from my accounting career and do something else. I wish I would have gotten a degree in History but it wasn't to be. So much of me wishes I could give up. After 16 years it dosen't seem like myself anymore. I'm not the same person I was but that's not a bad thing. My interests have changed. I've thought about mental health, History, Law, medical. Not being behind a desk all day would be nice. I'm burned out.

A degree in History probably wouldn't be particularly valuable in the workplace for most people, but it is certainly an interesting subject!

Mental health is a really interesting subject and has been on the 'up' in terms of its relevance and popularity in recent years.

I am sorry to hear that you are burned out, Brian. I hope that things work out well for you, in the end. :)
