Water pressure isn't much more than a trickle now

Spoke to 3 of my neighbours and we're all in the same boat so at least that's something

Had to wash my Barnet in cold water
I could have left it another day and fried an egg on it but I'm not that desperate for a fried egg

^I'm sorry to hear that.

Today I spent about 4 hours tinkering on a router, trying to get a VPN to work. It didn"t work. Frustrating.

Our local Poundland has just closed. Repossession notice on the front of the store today. Brutal. WH Smith in the indoor shopping centre shut down a few weeks ago, and I noticed today that Body Shop has gone. The UK is very much on the slide, it seems.

Yup. It's all going online these days, except the pubs and betting shops, and I suppose there'll always be a job centre and a MuckDonalds.

I can live without the existence of places like Body Shop. But now no more 2-litres bottles of milk for £1 from Poundland. I knew it was too good to last.

Thinks: I wonder if the Rochdale branch is still open?

Check out Rochdale anyway

If you can stand soya milk, Tescos were doing that for 50p a litre when I was last in the UK. But there's an issue with the calcium content of soya milk. It's in there but it sinks to the bottom of the box, and moderate shaking isn't enough to put it right. I put cheap brewer's grade calcium chloride in the bread I bake, instead of salt. Don't know for sure if it fixes it, but I eat cheese and eggs as well so I'm not too worried.

My mother used to drink goats' milk (she was a Capricorn!). I might give that a try, but it doesn't seem to be cheap.

That's why I stopped having soya milk

Goat's milk is supposed to have a much better balance of nutrients than cow's milk, so (they say) it avoids all the health problems, but as you say, it's not cheap. You could maybe get a goat for £200 or so and feed it for nowt if there's anywhere you can put it to graze, but I've not really researched it and it might get a lot more complicated than that.
