Superstition.

Mind you it can be enormous fun. Life gets boring when something goes bump in the night and you can explain it with physics. Still, physics can be interesting too as long as there aren't any hard sums in it.

This is really difficult because almost everything has an upside. And can we even enjoy the good without experiencing the bad so that we notice the good when we get it?
