Dear Miss lizard, I had read that AliceRoosevelt ( who was such a handful as a young lady that her father the president once said "I can either control Alice or I can run the country. I cannot do both") had a little pillow, embroidered with that comment,that she would bring to the many parties she attended.
She would place this beside her on the settee she selected, to insure that she always got the latest gossip.
I had read a lot about Dorothy Parker, and did you know that she answered her phone by saying"What fresh hell is this?"
Both ladies were known for their biting wit, and both had fascinating lives......

Yes,I love Dorothy Parker!After one of her suicide attempts she was in an oxygen tent,she asked if she could have a flag for her tent!Oscar Levant asked her if she took sleeping pills,her reply"In a big bowl with sugar and cream." She said of herself"Boy,did I think I was smart.I was just a little Jewish girl trying to be cute."
