I sleep with stuffed toys. I have Pikachu, Twilight Sparkle, Shadow, Sonic, Psyduck, A doggie, kitty, Miles Tails Prower and another Pikachu.

I have a Twilight Sparkle plush too! And an Alice from Alice in Wonderland. :) They both sleep on my bed with me.
The squeakers actually make me SAD. I don't know why. D: AND I also cry and really cute things too by the way. :D

So, you somehow know what a little furry animal sounds like when in distress and you have empathy for it? Or, it hurts your sensory system? Interesting.

(You can make predator calls with them.)

Sounds like a nice collection! I have a Twilight Sparkle, too. :)

I think I understand what you mean about "squeakers" inside stuffed animals making you sad, bcuz I used to feel the same way...when I was just little, I was in a toy store with my mom and there was this toy dog that came with a bone on the end of a wand...you waved the bone in front of the dog's nose, and it made these very pitiful whimpering sounds, wagged his tail, and waved its lil' front paws in the air. I fell in love with it immediately - those sad whimpering sounds made me feel sorry for it, I guess. My parents brought me back to the store about a week later and bought him, and I loved him and carried him everywhere, like I did all my favorite stuffed animals. I named him "Happy," although since he whimpered and cried like a real puppy, he sounded anything BUT happy. His whimpering and whining didn't necessarily make me cry, but it invoked strong feelings of pity and a mothering instinct of sorts, even tho I was only 4 or 5 years old at the time.

I still have Happy at my parents' house, BTW. :D Gonna bring him back to the dorms with me when I see my dad this Friday if I can swing it.

when i was a kid, i had this little box with pictures of cats on it, and it had a rubber-suspended reed inside of it, which when the box was tipped upside down, gravity would make the reed assembly move towards the other end of the box, and the displaced air would make the reed vibrate with a mysterious and sad "MEEOOOOWWW!" - for some reason, this bothered the hell out of me, so i broke the little box apart, stripped the rubber from the reed assembly and threw the reed into a drawer. i wish i hadn't have done that now that i'm no longer a silly little kid. those little meowing boxes, i don't think anybody makes them anymore in this day and age.

I remember when the first Cars movie came out several years ago, Target was selling these plushies of the characters (McQueen, Sally, Mater, Ramone, Luigi) that were called "Smack 'n' Yaks." If you smacked them against your palm, hit them, or *gulp* threw them against a wall, you would hear them say things like, " Ouch!!" "Hey, I have feelings!" "Oh, my aching chassis!" or "Hey, that wasn't very nice!"

I just found those plushies kind of sad and kind of sick, in a way...I mean, they were designed for little kids to smack and otherwise abuse, and then the toys would plead for it to end.....the whole idea was just really depressing to me, partly bcuz I hate thinking of any of the Cars characters being beaten or abused in any way. I never bought any of the Smack 'n' Yaks for that reason. I mean, I'm sure that I was sort of reading a lot more into a simple toy than there was to read (I do that a lot with different things) but, I just can't help thinking that all a kid is going to learn from a toy like that is, "Hey, every time I hit it, it makes a noise!" You know what I mean?

....What further added to the twistedness of the whole concept of that particular toy was how the Mater toy would sometimes say, "That there's FUN!" when he was "smacked." 8O And apparently, I wasn't the only one who felt this way about the Smack 'n' Yaks, cuz if you go to a toy store that has stuff from a few years ago (the Mall of America has a couple), you can find a bunch of the Cars Smack 'n' Yak plushies that never sold.

demented toys designed by demented engineers, marketed by demented execs, sold to innocent kids to train them to become demented.

Those squeakers make me feel like crying as well. That's why I want to cuddle with those toys and love them. :O)

Now i feel like hugging my own stuffed animals :o I don't know if this is really relevant but recently i watched an anime episode where well it was sort of a cat, *not a cat girl or anything but more like a demon cat* and it got all sad and that made me cry :o On that note for some reason i have a plushie pink cat that's been with me since birth, i don't know why i got a pink one, i mean usually when a boy is born its blue, not that it matters to me really, i also had a yellow one but it got lost ;~; Sorry am i rambling? I'm really sorry if i went off topic!

They make me cringe. They play havoc with my sensory, unfortunately my family gets a lot of mileage out of encouraging the dogs to chew repeatedly and make them squeak hard

If I ever find one, I'd send it to you. There's lots of toy stores in my area that sell vintage toys. 8)
