Yes. I fantasyzed about suicide a lot when I was teenager, mostly because of the unbearable situation at home. I have also done that (fantasyze) several times as adult, when I have felt really depressed, usually after HUGE fights with my husband. But I have never done anything to myself. Just in my head.

Used to, but came to the realization that it would hurt those that loved me so it was not an option.

Yes, in the past when my mental illnesses were out of control, I wanted to kill myself just so I could get some relief.

These days I enjoy my life a lot more, and the desire to die is gone.

I actually did almost kill myself once cos of my depression. If my mum had'nt caught me I probably would'nt be here today. I'm ok now though cos that experience taught me how precious life actually is, plus I've been taking prozac for the past couple of years which have helped with my depression

I've never wanted to die. I was scared of the isea of dying when I was younger. I soon learnt that everyone dies eventually, and I wasn't too happy about that. Now I know that I don't want to die until I'm really old, and I want it to haen when I don't know it, but also when I feel I've done everything I wanted to in my life, and said goodbye to everyone because my age would make me feel the time is near.
Even when I've been really sad and felt like I've lost everything, I reminded my self that everything will be alright in the end. The closest I got to depression (And maybe it wasn't even that) was in late 2010 - early 2011 in the winter. But listeining to music helped me through it. I often do expect the worst, but sometimes I do keep my hopes high.

Can I just say that I can't imagine ANYONE here wanting to die - you all seem like nice friendly people who are happy all the time, and some of you are funny as well. I can't imagine you being sad, so sad you don't feel like living.

Yes, but can generally plod on with the thinking that life still holds wonder.. Somewhere.
Plus I'm too afraid to do anything, death scares me. In a way i'd very much like to live forever.. If that makes sense.. I dunno

Yes, I came very close last year, it was very scary. I wanted to die, I just couldn't cope with being alive any more. But I couldn't kill myself because I believe that life is a precious gift, and also I just couldn't do that to my family.

I often get suicidal thoughts and have to work hard to control them - it seems to be my reaction to when life gets too tough. I know I won't act on them though.

Only when I truly had some painful times but now I know that I'm stronger than that.
As a thought of wanting, yes but never followed it with any kind of action.
