@ Kortie: I am currently an English major at Portland State University. However, my mom has threatened to remove me from studying at PSU if I don't meet her demands. My mom is more paranoid than ever, even though I've been seeing a therapist since September.

What sort of demands does she make on you?

At least you're progressing toward a degree.

is she even allowed to do that?

It's 198th day of me being WP member.
It's 6.6months.

that's almost 200, congrats!

612 days for me. around 881,000 minutes, maybe.

About 7 and 1/3 years for me. Officially I have been an active part of WP for 5 years.

-I have to wear a medical ID all the time I am on campus.

-I am not allowed to communicate with anyone who she does not approve of.

-I have to tell her where I'm going all the time, even if she knows that I am going to class.

There are more demands she makes on me, but these are the ones that come to mind.

as a person who values independence more than many things...i hope you can secure some for yourself in the near future.

@ Brother Kip: I'm hoping to find myself a job so I can make enough to find my own place to live. However, my mom has also threatened to put me in an assisted-living facility.

i have next to no knowledge on family law but i don't think she can carry out that threat without your permission. where do you plan on working AA? hopefully nothing too hectic unless you are the kind that thrives under pressure (but i shy away from those situations).

@ Brother Kip: I have filed applications with some big-box retailers such as Target, Dollar Tree, Sears, and Marshall's. I'm still waiting to hear back from all of these and the managers who I have spoken with are aware of my medical issues, so I have to wait a little longer.

Hello AA it's nice to see you have been around wrongplanet for many years know through all of the many changes of people and other such things. Honestly, I could say that I have been around for 8 years in totality, but that would not be accurate due to my sporadic nature. It's still good to know that not all of the original guard have faded away.

cool! some of those stores can get pretty big...more room to "hide".
i heard it's important to follow up with a call after a while, to your your interest as well...

@ Brother Kip: There is a Target close to the school I go to, so in convenience, I can walk there without having to worry about traffic. There is also a Dollar Tree close to my house, so that location too is convenient for the same reason.

big box retailers like target and the like aren't permitted to build within city limits here (i assume) so i have to bus over to the next town nearby if i want to shop there.
