i have never liked makeup on girls. it looks like their face is dirty, albeit pretty colored dirt.
the true texture of the skin is much more appealing than the greasy sheen that makeup imparts to the skin.

I don't understand how most of the guys could be saying the natural look. How come then all of the models are ogled all the time - I'm sure the Victoria Secret models aren't "natural" in any sense of the word. It seems guys say they want one thing, but chase after another.

When we "ogle" Victoria Secret models, we are not really looking at their face.

Yes, but someone mentioned why would women get fake nails and fake boobs, fake hair weaves etc. and those type of women (Victoria Secret models) probably have all of those things and men go "ga ga" over them. That is the reason women get all the fake stuff and add all the makeup because its women like those that the rest if us are in competition with for men's attention. So its hard for me to think that men are telling the truth when they say they like the "natural look". I just don't believe it.

Another example is Marilyn Monroe - she was a sex symbol back in the day and she always wore heavy makeup and had fake platinum blond hair. Why did men fancy her so much with all the fakeness?

I don't wear makeup, oh except for a special occasion (my sisters wedding). Some ladies that I know that wear a lot of make up do so to hide what they perceive to be imperfections.

Do I like makeup on women? I'm not attracted to women with makeup, but they can look pretty if not over done.

Tinted moisturiser with SPF 15 is my staple. I like the natural look, in the summer months I develop a healthy tan, but in the winter months I am just too blindingly white, I look ill without a little tint.

When I lived in the UK, the well groomed personal appearance was a standard for men and women, but I much prefer the low maintenance look in my current location, basically I think there are cultural differences.

To me, it's also shallow.

WOMEN: Is wearing makeup important to you?

Something that left a lasting impression on me, was that in England I noticed men with fake tans or wearing tinted moisturiser, not to mention their straightened hair, and manicured hands.

Wearing makeup is never important to me. I am happiest when I am natural, and others like me that way, too. I don't even need it, anyway; I have been told my eyelashes are beautiful enough to not need mascara.

A little bit of makeup can look good but I'd take all natural over cake face any day.

it depends, most days I go with no makeup but sometimes I put on some BB cream. even more occasionally I'll do eyeliner and/or mascara, maybe some shadow, and even more occasionally I'll put on a dark red lipstick. I prefer to look more natural and not spend more than 5 minutes on my appearance. I do genuinely like painting on my face though! sometimes I play around and end up looking like a circus acrobat.

This thread makes me think of Homer Simpson and the makeup gun he invented.

Makeup is okay, provided it doesn't damage the skin.

I like the natural look very much.

Ah yes, makeup. That stuff that goes everywhere it isn't supposed to be, glues my eyelashes together, makes my eyes and skin itch, feels greasy, and looks like a clown mask to me even when other people tell me "it looks great on you". Did I mention the smell most of it has? Ick. No.

I have tried using makeup a few times in my life - for a year or so in my early 20's, again for a brief interlude in my mid-30's, and then for a couple years during perimenopausal madness. SO glad that's done.

Now, lip gloss I can do, provided it isn't too heavily tinted, strongly scented, or too goopy.

Preferably natural. My current GF refuses to wear makeup, but beauty is in eye of the beholder.

I used to wear a lot of makeup in high school, I wanted to fit in. I didn't know how to put on makeup, I looked like a clown with a lot of eye shadow & blush. I rarely use makeup now, I wore heavy makeup once when I was on TV, I got lipstick on my teeth.
